Replacement of a mainframe-based core banking system by SAP DM

The mainframe-based legacy application is to be replaced by the standard software SAP DM due to the client's global core banking strategy. Supplier systems have to be connected via a common input architecture so that identical processes and business logic are applied to the data supplied. Besides transactional interfaces various master and reference data connections have to be established.

Approach

Three-month design phase including proof-of-concept DM. Iterative incremental approach with preceding detailed specifications followed by the customizing of the SAP System.

Responsibilities and achievements

Analysis of interfaces in the design phase
Creation of technical concepts for account statements and other types of correspondence, posting management, payment orders and locks (Posting Lock Management)
Definition of transaction types for payments and posting management
Analysis of interfaces to peripheral systems, connections to electronic output channels (SWIFT, EBICS)
Customizing the SAP system and functional developer support
Preparation of test cases and data
Supporting data migration
Coaching of internal employees
Preparation of user documentation, conducting training
